If the failure is not covered by warranty, for example, the stick on the console chewed the dog, then the center for repair will offer to fix the device, but for a fee. As an example of a case in which the repair center of Valve will repair Steam Deck for free, the company identified problems with the buttons, which are rare, but occur. In this case, the repair center specialists will run diagnostics, replace the button or stick, test and calibrate the device, and then send it back. When the warranty expires, the option to replace and calibrate the device becomes a chargeable charge.
