The craftsman has released a new driver for 3dfx Voodoo 4/5 to work on modern widescreen monitors

A computer enthusiast and lover of old hardware has released a new driver for the 3dfx Voodoo 4/5 line of graphics accelerators with VSA100 chipsets to work on modern widescreen monitors. The update works under Windows 98 and Windows ME, you can also try to run it on Windows XP, but stable work is not promised.

In addition to installing the driver, you also need to add a key to the OS registry (\Extra\Win98\98_Set1080p_vga.reg).

After installing the driver, you can play cult old shooters and racing games like Quake II and QIII, NFS5 and Unreal Tournament on modern monitors with an aspect ratio and resolution: 16:9 (1280x720, 1360x768, 1600x900, 1920x1080), 16:10 (1280x800, 1440x900 , 1680x1050, 1920x1200) and 21:9 (1680x720, 1792x768, 1920x800), as well as screen refresh rates from 120Hz to 144Hz.

At the moment, the author continues to refine the driver and fixes errors in it.

At the beginning of 2021, the modder and engineer recreated the Voodoo 5 6000 PCI project and even started selling cloned accelerators, updated versions with 256 MB of memory and Dual Bios on board in small batches.
