Spotify is working on integrating the service with Apple's proprietary Health app. This will allow users to get personalised workout playlists based on their medical scores.

The streaming service will soon get integration with HealthKit on iOS. This was revealed by a developer who discovered features in Spotify's code to work with Apple's API. This integration will allow the service to learn about the user's workouts, their duration, heart rate and the number of calories burned.
The developer says that Apple needs this information to develop an automated workout playlist system based on user input. For example, if the user lead an active lifestyle and often runs, then Spotify will add to the playlist energetic music, and if he prefers meditation and stretching - something soothing.
It's also important to note that Spotify won't be able to collect users' data without their permission. Any app that uses Apple's API must obtain confirmation. Also, the user can terminate the integration at any time.
Spotify's press office has not responded to reporters, so there is no information yet about the release date or the company's plans. It is also unknown what kind of medical data the service plans to collect.
