The enthusiast said that he found an advertisement for the sale of an old vending machine. In the process, it turned out that the original motherboard burned out, but the motors responsible for issuing the goods were completely preserved. The author of the project decided to buy the machine and restore it.
The enthusiast used a Raspberry Pi 4B microcomputer to control all systems of the vending machine, and an Arduino Mega to control the motors. Also, the author decided to replace the body, but the manufacture of a new one would take a lot of time, so it was decided to purchase a ready-made one.
At the moment, the machine is fully operational and can issue orders. The device currently accepts only dollar bills, but support for bank cards will soon appear. The enthusiast noted that for this it is necessary to find a suitable API. Also, a sufficiently large screen was placed on the body of the machine, which helps users to choose a product and can display ads.
