# Python — Filter floating point strings from a list of strings

Method # 1: Using Loop + Exception Handling
A combination of the above functions can be used to accomplish this task. In this we iterate over each element and try to convert each string to a floating point value, if successful means it is floating point, otherwise it raises a ValueError and we can get the desired string.

Method # 2: Using Regular Expressions + list comprehension
A combination of the above functions can accomplish this task. In this we perform the filtering task using the generated regular expression, and the list comprehension is used to iterate over the list and apply the filter.
