Python | Check for spaces in the line

|

Method # 1: Using Regular Expressions
This problem can be solved using the regex utility provided by python. By feeding the appropriate regex string to search () , we can check for a space in the string.

# Python3 code to demonstrate how it works
# Check for spaces in the line
# Using regular expressions

import re

# initializing string

test_str = "Geeks forGeeks"

# print original string

print ( "The original string is: " + test_str)

# Using regular expressions
# Check for spaces

res = bool (re.search (r " s " , test_str))

# print result

print ( "Does string contain spaces? " + str (res))

Output:

 The original string is: Geeks forGeeks Does string contain spaces? True

Method # 2: Using the in operator
This task can also be done using the in operator. You just need to check for a space in a line. The returned verdict is true even if one space is found, false otherwise.

# Python3 code to demonstrate how it works
# Check for spaces in the line
# Use in a statement

# initialization string

test_str = "Geeks forGeeks"

# print original line

print ( "The original string is:" + test_str)

# Use in a statement
# Check for spaces

res = "" in test_str

# print result

print ( "Does string contain spaces? " + str (res))

Output:

 The original string is: Geeks forGeeks Does string contain spaces? True
