itertools.repeat (object [, times])

-> iterator

object - The object to be returned.

times - The number of times to repeat. If not specified, it will return infinitely.

Returns the same object over and over.

  from itertools import repeat

repearter = repeat (’PY’)
next (repearter) # PY
next (repearter) # PY
next (repearter) # PY

list (repeat (’PY’, 2)) # [’ PY’, ’PY’]

A function is often used to pass a constant value to map () and zip () :

  list (map (pow, range (10), repeat (2))) # [0, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81]
