The media reported that the free version of the popular chatbot ChatGPT had more than 100 million active users in January. In two months the service audience has grown by 100 times.

An average of 13 million unique visitors used ChatGPT every day in January. In February this figure continues to grow.
Industry experts said that over the past 20 years, the network had not seen a service with more rapid growth in user base. It took TikTok about nine months after its global launch to reach 100 million users per month, and other popular social networks up to 2.5 years.
Analysts believe that the viral launch of ChatGPT gave OpenAI a significant advantage over other AI developers. The growth of user audiences requires a significant computational investment from OpenAI. On the other hand, it was a big opportunity for the company to get valuable feedback from users for learning and developing the chatbot.
ChatGPT can pass the MBA exam, solve tests, create simple polymorphic viruses and help in writing a diploma in an university.
Since the beginning of December ChatGPT had more than a million users. To maintain free access to the chatbot OpenAI spends a lot of IT resources and finances. So the developers decided to launch a paid version of the popular chatbot ChatGPT Plus for $20 a month. OpenAI promised that the paid version of the chatbot will always be available for use (now many users of the free version see the message: ChatGPT is at capacity right now) and will generate more responses per day compared with the free version. It will also have an early display of new features.
Last December, Google announced a "code red" on the appearance of ChatGPT. The company is looking for a symmetrical response to ChatGPT and has reached out to Larry Page and Sergey Brin for help. Since the beginning of the year, Google has been working on more than 20 AI projects.
