Apple plans to introduce a new MacBook Air with a 15.5-inch display next spring, Macrumors reports, citing data from analyst Ross Young. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also said so in September.

Young had previously claimed that the new version of the laptop would get a 15.2-inch display. However, according to the new data, the screen diagonal will be slightly larger. Yang says that displays for the new MacBook will go into mass production in the first quarter of 2023.
The new laptop is likely to get the same design as the 13-inch version. It will have a bigger trackpad and louder speakers. It will be mid-sized between the MacBook Pro 14 and 16. The MacBook Air will run on the M2 chip, but it is possible that it will get a version that runs on the M2 Pro.
In addition, the new version of the laptop will be equipped with a MagSafe charging port and a 1080p resolution camera. However, the new Air likely won't get a number of features from the older Pro - in particular, the display won't support ProMotion technology, which provides a 120Hz refresh rate for the display. In addition, there will be no mini-LED backlight.
