In his newsletter, Gurman confirmed information that Apple will unveil the iPhone 14 in early September. Along with the smartphone, the company will show the Apple Watch Series 8. The insider attributes this to the fact that last week the company's engineers finished the development process of iOS 16 and watchOS 9. Gurman also noted that iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura will be released in October. The delay was due to problems with the Stage Manager feature on the iPad.
Importantly, iOS 16 includes the ability to customize the lock screen and add widgets to it, and iMessage will get a feature to edit and delete messages sent. Also in the latest beta, Apple brought back the display of the percentage of charge in the status bar.
An insider previously reported that the fall presentation will be divided into two parts. The first will take place on Sept. 7, 2022, where the company will unveil the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch 8. The second part is scheduled for October. During the event, Apple may unveil a budget iPad with USB-C, an iPad Pro on the M2 and computers based on new processors.
