Amazon Drive was launched in 2011 under the name Amazon Cloud Drive. During its existence, the service has served as a secure cloud storage service for the company's customers, according to Amazon. The ability to upload new files to Amazon Drive will be disabled on January 31, 2023.

The company promises to give consumers the ability to securely post photos and videos to Amazon Photos. Users will be allowed to upload their data before Amazon Drive closes at the end of next year. The app for iOS and Android will be deactivated on October 31, 2023.

In addition, Amazon is offering users a refund by canceling their subscription to the closing service. Amazon Photos provides customers with 5 GB of storage for free. The service has the following rates:

  • 100 GB for $1.99 per month;
  • 1 TB for $6.99 per month;
  • 2 TB for $11.99 per month.

Storages up to 30 TB are available to users for $1.79 thousand per year.
