a.i. solutions is seeking a highly motivated software developer to assist in the improvement of the flight dynamic systems software for NASA`s flagship Earth Observing satellites Aqua, Aura, and Terra. This system is critical for the mission`s health, safety, and continued operations as they fly in their international constellation of satellites. This role will be responsible for coding new features, assisting architecting of new features, performing integration testing, fixing software defects, and assisting writing documentation. The successful candidates will support the full lifecycle of ground software including systems engineering, development, verification and validation, mission operations, and sustaining engineering, and will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participate in all software development life cycle phases including gathering requirements, trade studies, designing solutions, development, testing, and implementation in operations
- Participate in inter-disciplinary teams to design and develop systems capable of supporting real-time satellite flight operations, high-fidelity analysis, and/or critical operations activities
- Contribute to solving complex technical problems and perform trade-off analyses of feasible options
- Optimize and modernize legacy scripts as well as identifying opportunities for innovation
- Create and update software systems documentation
- Assess and update software development processes based on NASA standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Desired Background:
- Experience with C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and/or Python for application design and development
- Experience with a version control system such as git
- Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values, or opinions of others
