The candidate will, under the supervision of senior personnel, develop six degrees of freedom (6DOF) models to test and evaluate flight software for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures (TC) program. Missile simulations are developed for a variety of vehicles and modeled end-to-end with both flight-software-in-the-loop (SIL) and processor-in-the-loop (PIL) configurations. Work will be performed on-site in a lab on Redstone Arsenal.
M.S. in Aerospace Engineering with 0-3 years of experience.
Proficiency with MATLAB, C++, Python, and/or other programming language(s) required. Candidates should be capable of developing code to represent physics-based models.
Experience in engineering, or related weapon systems development, integration, or test and evaluation field is desired but not required.
Experience and/or coursework in modeling flight dynamics, propulsion, aerodynamics, actuator systems, and/or GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) all a plus.
Position requires that candidate meets requirements to obtain a final security clearance to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position. Active clearance preferred.
