Unizin is looking for a Python developer that is excited by the prospect of collaborating with a diverse team to create data-centric solutions to help inform teaching and learning across the Unizin consortium, which includes 13 of the largest Universities in the country, representing nearly 1 million students.

What you’ll do:
Use Python, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, GNU/Linux, and Google Cloud Platform services (PubSub, Big Query, etc).
- Design and develop scalable services, and systems of services, across Unizin’s product portfolio.
- Proactively facilitate open communication, collective decision-making, thorough reviews, and other engineering practices that create an effective deployment of performant, scalable systems.
- Collaborate with other Unizin teams including product, UX, services, support, and University technology staff as needed.
Engaging multiple universities: As Unizin works to meet the needs of our member institutions, you will meet and collaborate with IT professionals from many large universities, helping you build your professional network and explore IT (in its many forms) in higher education.

What we need from you:
- A passion for innovation, motivated by solving complex problems that provide ample room for experimentation, collaboration, and iterative development.
- A love of coding and building systems, especially with Python. While not required, experience with Django and Flask is also beneficial.
- A strong belief that a holistic engineering mindset (testing, code review, DevOps, CICD) is essential to building great systems.
- A desire to collaborate, mentor, guide, and be guided by your peers.
- Strong communication skills.
